ELIGIBILITY & REFERRALS

To access services, families are asked to follow the following steps:
  • Call 1-866-590-8822 to reach Thames Valley Children’s Centre (toll free) and press 1.
  • Tell the intake staff you want to register for Autism Services.
  • The intake team will send you an Admission Package.
  • Complete and return the Admission Package at your earliest convenience. Be sure to include written confirmation of your child’s diagnosis made by a qualified professional (e.g., a diagnostic report from your Pediatrician, or another official document from a qualified source).

What to Expect

Your child will be placed on the Autism Services wait list based on the date of referral (i.e., the date TVCC intake receives written confirmation of diagnosis as outlined above). An Autism Services staff will contact you to start services when a spot becomes available. In order to get to know your child, we will observe him/her; ask you questions; complete an assessment and collect all relevant clinical reports. Together we will start a Family Service Plan. This plan will outline the first six months of services. It will then be up-dated every six months as your child grows and evolves.
