Vince Laframboise

Vince Laframboise has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015 and is currently President. Vince brings a parent/family perspective to the issues being considered by the Board and has experience in volunteering with numerous organizations within our community. Through his professional work in mechanical and electronics engineering and his volunteer experience; Vince has gained extensive knowledge of our community.

Ken Kapustiak

Ken Kapustiak has been a member of the Board of Directors since June, 2017 and is currently Vice-President and a member of the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee. Now retired, Ken brings many years of senior financial leadership experience in industry as well as volunteer experience to the Board. He is a graduate of York University (MBA) and the University of Windsor (B. Comm.), and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA CMA).

Past-President

Elizabeth Haugh

Elizabeth Haugh has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2014 and is currently Past-President and a member of the Executive Committee. Liz retired from a lengthy career in public health as Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Health Promotion at the Windsor Essex County Health Unit. Liz was a former Adjunct Associate professor with Facility of Nursing and is a Past member of the Ethics Review Board for Public Health Ontario.  Liz is a past member of the Empowered Kids Ontario (EKO) Board of Directors which represents Ontario’s publicly-funded child development and rehabilitation sector. She currently serves on her condominium Board of Directors. Throughout her career she has had several governance leadership opportunities as President of the local Children's Aid Society, the College of Nurses of Ontario, and the Ontario Public Health Association. As well Liz has been involved at the board member and committee level for several nursing organizations such as RNAO, Sigma Theta Tau Honour Society of Nursing, ANDSOOHA, the Ontario Nurses Association, as well as the Association for Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa) which granted her the Distinguished Service Award in 2012. Liz enjoys regular gym classes, and her bridge club and book club, in addition to her five grandchildren and two grand-dogs.

Treasurer

Stephen Richards

Stephen Richards has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 and is currently Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee and a member of the Governance Committee. Stephen is a former Director and Treasurer of the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association and a former Director and President of the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association. Now retired, Stephen had a small accounting practice in the Windsor/Essex area. He brings many years of financial management experience in industry as well as volunteer experience to the Board. He is a graduate of Western University (HBA) and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA, CA).

Danielle Campo McLeod

Danielle Campo McLeod has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 and is currently a member of the Quality Committee.  Danielle  is a Director with Muscular Dystrophy Canada and a Registered Social Worker. Danielle brings a client perspective to the issues being considered by the Board. Danielle is a former Paralympic Swimmer, she represented Canada in the Paralympics winning a total of three golds, two silvers, and a bronze medal and held at one time eight world records.  Danielle holds a degree in Social Worker and is a certified Child and Youth Worker. Danielle was invested with the Order of Ontario, the province's highest distinction.

Allan Cohen

Allan Cohen has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2012 and is past Chair of the Community Relations and Communications Committee. Allan is President of Merchants Paper Company in Windsor, a distributor of Janitorial, Packaging and Food Service Supplies to local industry. A family business established by his grandparents in 1941, Allan oversees all facets of the operation directing a team of highly skilled managers to carry out the firm’s strategic direction. Merchants is a member of Balpex, Inc., a Canadian association of independent business to business distributors on whose Board of Directors Mr. Cohen recently served as Chair, leading the organization through a period of significant strategic planning and change management. Allan is a proud husband and father of two teenagers, is a supporter of many community organizations and enjoys cooking, travel and photography.

Wiquar Husain

Wiquar joined the Board of Directors in 2021, previously serving on the finance committee. A seasoned project manager with over 20 years of project management experience in healthcare, construction, consumer electronic retail and manufacturing, he is the founder and CEO of VCare Clinics Inc., a healthcare operation and management consultancy service based in Windsor, Ontario. Wiquar holds an M.A.Sc in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Windsor, and an M.Sc in Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, India.

Patti Lauzon

Patti Lauzon has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 and is currently Chair of the Community Relations and Communications Committee.  Over the past 20 years, Patti has created press events, raised dollars for non-profit organizations, published news and feature stories, developed marketing campaigns and worked with corporate and individual sponsors to enhance services in the Windsor-Essex County community.  With a strong commitment and passion for access to mental healthcare, education and women’s issues, Patti has experience in supporting all of these causes either as a paid professional or volunteer.  Since 2013, Patti has been the Director, Alumni Affairs and Donor Communications at the University of Windsor. During this time, she has led the Alumni Association through a new strategic planning process, broadened the Alumni Association’s brand, enhanced alumni communication resources and developed new agreements of support for alumni.  Her community involvement consists of volunteering with a number of non-profit organizations including the Hiatus House, the Bishop’s Dinner organizing committee, Corpus Christi Parish, the Canadian Public Relations Society and the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE).  She is a new member of the United Way’s Women Leading the Way group and she is honoured to be joining the board of the John McGivney Children’s Centre.  Patti and her husband, Mark, live in Windsor with their two daughters.

Kevin Matte

Kevin Matte joined the Board of Directors in September 2020 and is currently a member of the Governance Committee. He has worked as a registered nurse since 2013, working primarily with patients who suffer from mental illness. Kevin has been in hospital leadership for the last 5 years and is currently Director, Inpatient and Emergency Services at Erie Shores Healthcare. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and a Masters in Nursing (MN) degree from the University of Windsor.

Gina Pittman

Gina Pittman has been a member of the Board of Directors since October 2018 and is currently Chair of the Quality Committee.  She is originally from Newfoundland and relocated to Windsor in 2009.  Gina is a Nurse Practitioner and an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Windsor, teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs.  Gina enjoys promoting the nursing profession and giving back to the community by volunteering at a local food bank and being a member of several committees at the University.  When she is not busy with work, she loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and fur baby.

Kathleen Roberts

Kathleen Roberts has been a member of the Board of Directors since April, 2017 and is currently a member of the Finance Committee. Kathleen is In-House Legal Counsel at Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, and as such helps the organization navigate the myriad of legal issues that face a large infrastructure project, particularly one that crosses an international border. This includes assessing and managing risk, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations in two countries and assisting with strategic decision-making.

David Sundin

David Sundin has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2017 and is currently Chair of the Governance Committee. David joined the McTague Law Firm in 2011 and became a partner in 2016. He practices in the Litigation and Commercial Litigation Departments and is also a member of the Privacy Law Group.

Jessica Sartori, CEO

Jessica Sartori became the Chief Executive Officer of JMCC in October 2019. A lifelong resident of Windsor-Essex, Jessica's previous experience includes serving as the Director of Quality Assurance at the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society for almost 8 years, and as the Manager of Community Impact and Learning at the United Way Windsor-Essex County. Prior to this she also held several other research and senior leadership roles, and has been heavily involved in the community. Jessica holds a PhD in Applied Social Psychology from the University of Windsor.

Board of Directors Meeting Dates
Meetings of the Board of Directors of the John McGivney Children's Centre are scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month at the Centre and/or virtually as necessary. 

Meetings are open to the public. We ask that you please RSVP your attendance to melissa.veresuk@jmccentre.ca at least one week prior to the meeting.
