Ken Kapustiak

Ken Kapustiak has been a member of the Board of Directors since June, 2017 and previously served on the Finance Committee. Now retired, Ken brings many years of senior financial leadership experience in industry as well as volunteer experience to the Board. He is a graduate of York University (MBA) and the University of Windsor (B. Comm.), and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA CMA).

Vince Laframboise

Vince Laframboise has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015. Vince brings a parent/family perspective to the issues being considered by the Board and has experience in volunteering with numerous organizations within our community. Through his professional work in mechanical and electronics engineering and his volunteer experience; Vince has gained extensive knowledge of our community.

Patti Lauzon

Patti Lauzon has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 is currently the Vice President / Vice Chair.  Patti sits on the Community Relations and Communications Committee, where she is also Past Chair.
Over the past 20 years, Patti has created press events, raised dollars for non-profit organizations, published news and feature stories, developed marketing campaigns and worked with corporate and individual sponsors to enhance services in the Windsor-Essex County community.  With a strong commitment and passion for access to mental healthcare, education and women’s issues, Patti has experience in supporting all of these causes either as a paid professional or volunteer.  Since 2013, Patti has been the Director, Alumni Affairs and Donor Communications at the University of Windsor. During this time, she has led the Alumni Association through a new strategic planning process, broadened the Alumni Association’s brand, enhanced alumni communication resources and developed new agreements of support for alumni.  Her community involvement consists of volunteering with a number of non-profit organizations including the Hiatus House, the Bishop’s Dinner organizing committee, Corpus Christi Parish, the Canadian Public Relations Society and the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE).  She is a member of the United Way’s Women Leading the Way group and she is honoured to be on the board of the John McGivney Children’s Centre.  Patti and her husband, Mark, live in Windsor with their two daughters.

Allan Cohen

Allan Cohen joined the Board of Directors in June 2012, is past Chair of the Community Relations and Communications Committee and now serves on the Executive Committee as Treasurer and as Chair of the Finance Committee.  Allan is CEO of Merchants Paper Company in Windsor, a distributor of Janitorial, Packaging and Food Service Supplies to local industry.  Building a great team with a keen focus on the company’s strategic direction and delivery of outstanding customer experiences has been Allan’s passion throughout his career and informs the insights that he brings to his role on our Board.  Allan is a proud husband and father to two grown children, is a supporter of numerous community organizations and is committed to finding ways to bring insight and brightness to all endeavors with which he becomes involved.

Danielle Campo McLeod

Danielle Campo McLeod has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 and is currently a member of the Quality Committee, and past member of the Communications and Community Relations Committee. Danielle  is a Director with Muscular Dystrophy Canada and a Registered Social Worker. Danielle brings a client perspective to the issues being considered by the Board. Danielle is a former Paralympic Swimmer, she represented Canada in the Paralympics winning a total of three golds, two silvers, and a bronze medal and held at one time eight world records.  Danielle holds a degree in Social Worker and is a certified Child and Youth Worker. Danielle was invested with the Order of Ontario, the province's highest distinction.

Wiquar Husain

Wiquar joined the Board of Directors in 2021, and serves on the Finance Committee as Vice-Chair. A seasoned project manager with over 20 years of project management experience in healthcare, construction, consumer electronic retail and manufacturing, he is the founder and CEO of VCare Clinics Inc., a healthcare operation and management consultancy service based in Windsor, Ontario. Wiquar holds an M.A.Sc in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Windsor, and an M.Sc in Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, India.

Terry Johnson

Terry is Vice-Chair of the Governance Committee and previously served on the Quality Committee since October 2021. Terry retired from Windsor Essex Children’s Aid in March 2019 following 37 years in child welfare; both in providing front line services as well as in senior leadership roles. Terry is well versed in the needs of children and families and has worked collaboratively with many community organizations. Presently Terry is a council member for ProsperUs and facilitates a Community Action Network group of neighbourhood residents discussing the needs of children 0 to 6 years of age.  Terry is also a  member of the Board of Directors for the Windsor Working with Immigrant Women. Terry has a Masters of Social Work from the University of Windsor.

Kevin Matte

Kevin Matte joined the Board of Directors in September 2020 and is currently the Chair of the Community Relations & Communications Committee, serves on the Quality Committee, and is a past member of the Governance Committee.  He has worked as a registered nurse since 2013, working primarily with patients who suffer from mental illness. Kevin has been in hospital leadership for the last 5 years and is Integrated Manager at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and a Masters in Nursing (MN) degree from the University of Windsor.

Gina Pittman

Gina Pittman has been a member of the Board of Directors since October 2018 and is currently Chair of the Quality Committee and Vice-Chair of the Communications & Community Relations Committee.  She is originally from Newfoundland and relocated to Windsor in 2009.  Gina is a Nurse Practitioner and an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Windsor, teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs.  Gina enjoys promoting the nursing profession and giving back to the community by volunteering at a local food bank and being a member of several committees at the University.  When she is not busy with work, she loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and fur baby.

Stephen Richards

Stephen Richards has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 and has served as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee and as a member of the Governance Committee. Stephen is currently a member of the Finance Committee. Stephen is a former Director and Treasurer of the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association and a former Director and President of the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association. Now retired, Stephen had a small accounting practice in the Windsor/Essex area. He brings many years of financial management experience in industry as well as volunteer experience to the Board. He is a graduate of Western University (HBA) and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA, CA).

Kathleen Roberts

Kathleen Roberts has been a member of the Board of Directors since April, 2017. Kathleen is past member of the Finance Committee, and currently sits on the Governance Committee and the Community Relations & Communications Committee. Kathleen is In-House Legal Counsel at the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, and as such helps the organization navigate the myriad of legal issues that face a large infrastructure project, particularly one that crosses an international border. This includes assessing and managing risk, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations in two countries and assisting with strategic decision-making.

David Sundin

David Sundin has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2017 and is currently Chair of the Governance Committee, and also serves on the Finance Committee. David is a former member of the Communications & Community Relations Committee.  David practiced at McTague Law Firm starting in 2011 and became a partner in 2016, and in January 2022 joined the County of Essex as County Solicitor.

Jessica Sartori, CEO

Jessica Sartori became the Chief Executive Officer of JMCC in October 2019. A lifelong resident of Windsor-Essex, Jessica's previous experience includes serving as the Director of Quality Assurance at the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society for almost 8 years, and as the Manager of Community Impact and Learning at the United Way Windsor-Essex County. Prior to this she also held several other research and senior leadership roles, and has been heavily involved in the community. Jessica holds a PhD in Applied Social Psychology from the University of Windsor.

Board of Directors Meeting Dates
Meetings of the Board of Directors of the John McGivney Children's Centre are scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month at the Centre and/or virtually as necessary. 

Meetings are open to the public. We ask that you please RSVP your attendance to melissa.veresuk@jmccentre.ca at least one week prior to the meeting.
