Nancy Gignac has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2013 and is currently President of the Board, and a member of the Executive Committee. She has previously held the position of Vice-President and Chair of the Quality Committee. Nancy has served as an elementary school teacher, vice-principal, and principal with the Greater Essex County District School Board. She also served as Supervising Principal of Special Education, primarily responsible for special education programs and services in both elementary and secondary schools. Nancy has been a sessional instructor with the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor, Queen’s University and St. Clair College and is currently working as a self-employed education consultant. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society and the Maryvale Adolescent and Family services as both board member and president; the Family Mental Health and Addictions Committee at Windsor Regional Hospital; and is on the Board of Directors for the Human Rights Legal Support Centre in Toronto. Nancy is the mother of two sons and enjoys reading and outdoor activities.
Elizabeth Haugh has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2014 and is currently Vice President and a member of the Executive Committee. Liz is also the Chair of the Quality Committee. Liz retired from a lengthy career in public health as Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Health Promotion at the Windsor Essex County Health Unit. Currently she is an Adjunct Associate Professor and sessional instructor for leadership and management course to fourth year students with the U of W Faculty of Nursing and is a Member of the Ethics Review Board for Public Health Ontario. Throughout her career she has had several governance leadership opportunities as President of the local Children's Aid Society, the College of Nurses of Ontario, and the Ontario Public Health Association. As well Liz has been involved at the board member and committee level for several nursing organizations such as RNAO, Sigma Theta Tau Honour Society of Nursing, ANDSOOHA, the Ontario Nurses Association, as well as the Association for Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa) which granted her the Distinguished Service Award in 2012. Liz enjoys regular gym classes, her bridge club and two book clubs in addition to her four grandchildren and two grand-dogs.
Ray Stanczak has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1997 and is currently Past-President. Ray is a member of the Quality Committee as well as the Governance Committee. Ray has previously served as President, Vice-President. Chair of the Quality Committee, and was a member of the Strategic Planning/Quality Improvement Committee. Ray has two children with cerebral palsy and originally joined the Board to provide a parent/family perspective to the issues being considered by the Board. Ray is a retired automotive engineer with thirty and a half years of experience working at both GM plants in Windsor. His recent professional experience was in risk identification and capital asset management.
Cindy Tracey has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2008 and has held the position of Treasurer of the Board since 2009. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Finance Committee.
Elaine Whitmore has been Chief Executive Officer at the Centre since June 2002. Prior to returning to Windsor to assume this role she was in a senior leadership position at the Community Care Access Centre of Halton. Elaine is a graduate of the University of Windsor Bachelor of Science Program in Nursing and received a Masters in Public Administration in Health Policy from Queen’s University.
Allan Cohen has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2012 and is currently Chair of the Community Relations and Communications Committee. Allan is President of Merchants Paper Company in Windsor, a distributor of Janitorial, Packaging and Food Service Supplies to local industry. A family business established by his grandparents in 1941, Allan oversees all facets of the operation directing a team of highly skilled managers to carry out the firm’s strategic direction. Merchants is a member of Balpex, Inc., a Canadian association of independent business to business distributors on whose Board of Directors Mr. Cohen recently served as Chair, leading the organization through a period of significant strategic planning and change management. Allan is a proud husband and father of two teenagers, is a supporter of many community organizations and enjoys cooking, travel and photography.
Sylvain Côté has been a member of the Board since 1997. Sylvain has previously held the position of Vice-President, and was a member of the Strategic Planning/Quality Improvement Committee, the Building Committee, Governance Committee, and the French Language Services Committee. Sylvain is currently a member of the Community Relations and Communications Committee.
Ken Kapustiak has been a member of the Board of Directors since June, 2017 and is currently a member of the Finance Committee. Now retired, Ken brings many years of senior financial leadership experience in industry as well as volunteer experience to the Board. He is a graduate of York University (MBA) and the University of Windsor (B. Comm.), and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA CMA).
Vince Laframboise has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015 and is currently Chair of the Governance Committee. Vince brings a parent/family perspective to the issues being considered by the Board and has experience in volunteering with numerous organizations within our community. Through his professional work in mechanical and electronics engineering and his volunteer experience; Vince has gained extensive knowledge of our community.
Kathleen Roberts has been a member of the Board of Directors since April, 2017 and is currently a member of the Governance Committee. Kathleen is In-House Legal Counsel at Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, and as such helps the organization navigate the myriad of legal issues that face a large infrastructure project, particularly one that crosses an international border. This includes assessing and managing risk, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations in two countries and assisting with strategic decision-making.
David Sundin has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2017 and is currently a member of the Governance Committee. David joined the McTague Law Firm in 2011 and became a partner in 2016. He practices in the Litigation and Commercial Litigation Departments and is also a member of the Privacy Law Group.
John Zangari has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2012. John had previously assisted as a member of the Building Committee since the Fall 2010, and is currently a member of the Quality Committee. In 2011, John, a Partner at Dillon Consulting, was awarded the Centre’s “Friend of the Centre’ Award for volunteering his time and expertise to assist us throughout the administering of our capital project. With John’s vast engineering background and his many years of working in the consulting industry, he was an important asset to the Centre through the complex dealings with the contractor and architectural consultant. John is a Professional Engineer and Partner at Dillon Consulting Limited; an engineering, planning, management and environmental sciences consulting firm. John is currently the firm's national Technical Leader Engineering Group, the corporate Director of Technical Risk and a member of the firm's Quality Management Committee. John also acted as the firm's Government Sector Leader, responsible for a national portfolio of public sector clients, prior to undertaking his current roles. John previously served two terms as a member of Dillon's Board of Directors. John is the father of two adult daughters and he and his wife enjoy travel and fitness activities.
