Elizabeth Haugh

Elizabeth Haugh has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2014 and is currently President, a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Quality Committee. Liz retired from a lengthy career in public health as Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Health Promotion at the Windsor Essex County Health Unit. Liz was a former Adjunct Associate professor with Facility of Nursing and is a Member of the Ethics Review Board for Public Health Ontario. Throughout her career she has had several governance leadership opportunities as President of the local Children's Aid Society, the College of Nurses of Ontario, and the Ontario Public Health Association. As well Liz has been involved at the board member and committee level for several nursing organizations such as RNAO, Sigma Theta Tau Honour Society of Nursing, ANDSOOHA, the Ontario Nurses Association, as well as the Association for Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa) which granted her the Distinguished Service Award in 2012. Liz enjoys regular gym classes, her bridge club and two book clubs in addition to her four grandchildren and two grand-dogs.

Nancy Gignac

Nancy Gignac has been a  member of the Board of Directors since June 2013 and is currently Past President of the Board, and a member of the Executive Committee.  Nancy is also a member of the Finance Committee and the Governance Committee. Nancy has served as an elementary school teacher, vice-principal, and principal with the Greater Essex County District School Board. She also served as Supervising Principal of Special Education, primarily responsible for special education programs and services in both elementary and secondary schools. Nancy has been a sessional instructor with the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor, Queen’s University and St. Clair College and is currently working as a self-employed education consultant. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society and the Maryvale Adolescent and Family services as both board member and president; the Family Mental Health and Addictions Committee at Windsor Regional Hospital; and is on the Board of Directors for the Human Rights Legal Support Centre in Toronto. Nancy is the mother of two sons and enjoys reading and outdoor activities.

Vince Laframboise

Vince Laframboise has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015 and is currently Vice President. Vince is also a member of the Executive Committee as well as the Governance Committee. Vince brings a parent/family perspective to the issues being considered by the Board and has experience in volunteering with numerous organizations within our community. Through his professional work in mechanical and electronics engineering and his volunteer experience; Vince has gained extensive knowledge of our community.

Ken Kapustiak

Ken Kapustiak has been a member of the Board of Directors since June, 2017 and is currently Treasurer of the Board, a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Finance Committee.  Now retired, Ken brings many years of senior financial leadership experience in industry as well as volunteer experience to the Board.  He is a graduate of York University (MBA) and the University of Windsor (B. Comm.), and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA CMA).

Elaine Whitmore

Elaine Whitmore has been Chief Executive Officer at the Centre since June 2002. Prior to returning to Windsor to assume this role she was in a senior leadership position at the Community Care Access Centre of Halton. Elaine is a graduate of the University of Windsor Bachelor of Science Program in Nursing and received a Masters in Public Administration in Health Policy from Queen’s University.

Danielle Campo McLeod

Danielle Campo McLeod has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 and is currently a member of the Quality Committee.  Danielle  is a Director with Muscular Dystrophy Canada and a Registered Social Worker. Danielle brings a client perspective to the issues being considered by the Board. Danielle is a former Paralympic Swimmer, she represented Canada in the Paralympics winning a total of three golds, two silvers, and a bronze medal and held at one time eight world records.  Danielle holds a degree in Social Worker and is a certified Child and Youth Worker. Danielle was invested with the Order of Ontario, the province's highest distinction.

Allan Cohen

Allan Cohen has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2012 and is currently Chair of the Community Relations and Communications Committee. Allan is President of Merchants Paper Company in Windsor, a distributor of Janitorial, Packaging and Food Service Supplies to local industry. A family business established by his grandparents in 1941, Allan oversees all facets of the operation directing a team of highly skilled managers to carry out the firm’s strategic direction. Merchants is a member of Balpex, Inc., a Canadian association of independent business to business distributors on whose Board of Directors Mr. Cohen recently served as Chair, leading the organization through a period of significant strategic planning and change management. Allan is a proud husband and father of two teenagers, is a supporter of many community organizations and enjoys cooking, travel and photography.

Joanna Conrad

Joanna Conrad has been a member of the Board of Directors since October 2018 and is currently a member of the Community Relations and Communications Committee. Joanna is the Executive Director of Youth Diversion, a not-for-profit agency that works with at-risk youth, encouraging young people to strengthen themselves so that they may in turn, strengthen their futures. Joanna also teaches in the Community Justice Services Program at St. Clair College. She received her Honours Degree in Law & Society at York University and has over ten years’ experience working within the criminal justice field in various capacities. Joanna, a proud wife and mother of three children, is also a strong advocate for people with Down syndrome and is active in the community providing presentations supporting those who have Down syndrome or love someone who does. She also volunteers with the John McGivney Centre on the Family Advisory Network, and sits on the St. Clair College Community Justice Services Program Advisory Committee as well as the Prince Andrew Public School Student Advisory Council.

Patti Lauzon

Patti Lauzon has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 and is currently a member of the Community Relations and Communications Committee.  Over the past 20 years, Patti has created press events, raised dollars for non-profit organizations, published news and feature stories, developed marketing campaigns and worked with corporate and individual sponsors to enhance services in the Windsor-Essex County community.  With a strong commitment and passion for access to mental healthcare, education and women’s issues, Patti has experience in supporting all of these causes either as a paid professional or volunteer.  Since 2013, Patti has been the Director, Alumni Affairs and Donor Communications at the University of Windsor. During this time, she has led the Alumni Association through a new strategic planning process, broadened the Alumni Association’s brand, enhanced alumni communication resources and developed new agreements of support for alumni.  Her community involvement consists of volunteering with a number of non-profit organizations including the Hiatus House, the Bishop’s Dinner organizing committee, Corpus Christi Parish, the Canadian Public Relations Society and the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE).  She is a new member of the United Way’s Women Leading the Way group and she is honoured to be joining the board of the John McGivney Children’s Centre.  Patti and her husband, Mark, live in Windsor with their two daughters.

Stephen Richards

Stephen Richards has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2018 and is currently a member of the Finance Committee. Stephen is a Director and Treasurer of the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association and is a former Director and President of the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association. Now semi-retired, Stephen has a small accounting practice in the Windsor/Essex area. He brings many years of financial management experience in industry as well as volunteer experience to the Board. He is a graduate of Western University (HBA) and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA, CA).

Kathleen Roberts

Kathleen Roberts has been a member of the Board of Directors since April, 2017 and is currently a member of the Finance Committee. Kathleen is In-House Legal Counsel at Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, and as such helps the organization navigate the myriad of legal issues that face a large infrastructure project, particularly one that crosses an international border. This includes assessing and managing risk, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations in two countries and assisting with strategic decision-making.

David Sundin

David Sundin has been a member of the Board of Directors since June 2017 and is currently Chair of the Governance Committee. David joined the McTague Law Firm in 2011 and became a partner in 2016. He practices in the Litigation and Commercial Litigation Departments and is also a member of the Privacy Law Group.

Meetings of the Board of Directors of the John McGivney Children's Centre are scheduled to take place on the last Tuesday of the Month at the Centre.  Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
