Seating and Mobility

WHO WE ARE

The Seating and Mobility Clinic at the John McGivney Children's Centre (JMCC) is made up of Occupational Therapists (OTs), technicians and other staff who support children and youth who have difficulties with movement and require equipment (strollers, wheelchairs etc.) to help improve comfort, posture and their ability to perform daily activities. 

WHAT WE DO

  • Assessment for seating systems and wheeled mobility for children/youth to self propel or have caregivers push for mobility in the home and community.
  • Consultation of equipment needs for wound care issues related to wheelchair users
  • Fabrication and/or ordering of prescribed equipment
  • Assistance with funding options 

ELIGIBILITY & REFERRALS

Services are available to children and youth under the age of 19, and young people between the ages of 19 and 21 who remain in secondary school and reside in Windsor and Essex County.

To access this service, please visit our Intake & Referrals page. Health professionals, families and clients can submit a referral. 

Referrals will be reviewed and services will be determined based on the child's individual needs and their meeting of all eligibility requirements.
