Participate in Research: Virtual focus group about a new accessible language comprehension test for children with Cerebral palsy who have complex communication needs

February 23, 2023

Participate in Research

Mileva Vuletic and Dr. Barbara Jane Cunningham and their team at John McGivney Children’s Centre and the University of Western Ontario would like to invite you to participate in a virtual focus group.

The purpose of the focus group is to introduce families to a new accessible language comprehension test for children with CP and complex communication needs and understand their perceived barriers and facilitators to using the test in Canada. The measure is called the Computer-Based Instrument for Low Motor Language Testing (C-BiLLT).

In the virtual focus group, we would introduce you to the C-BiLLT and then you would participate with 4-6 other parents/guardians to answer six questions. Focus groups will be conducted online at times that are convenient for participants and will take approximately two hours to complete. A 10-minute break will be provided halfway through the focus group, and participants will be compensated.

Findings will inform future work related to improving assessment of language comprehension for children with CP and complex communication needs in Canada.

If you would like to participate in this study, please contact the study coordinator, Sarah Hopmans at 905-525-9140 x27854 or hopmansn@mcmaster.ca
