CBC Kids News Wants to Hear from Youth with Disabilities – Including JMCC Kids!

July 11, 2025

cbc news

CBC Kids News is inviting Canadian kids and teens ages 11 to 16 who are Deaf and/or living with a disability to help shape the future of accessible news – and JMCC families are encouraged to take part.

Participants will have the chance to share their thoughts and feedback directly with CBC Kids News journalists in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. These sessions will focus on how young people with disabilities experience news and digital content, and how CBC Kids News can make its reporting more accessible and engaging for all.

Two sessions will be offered:

  • Online via Zoom: Thursday, August 8, 2025

  • In-person at CBC Toronto: Tuesday, August 13, 2025

Kids and teens can sign up online at cbckidsnews.ca. The deadline to apply is July 24, 2025.

CBC is happy to accommodate applications by phone or email if the online form is not accessible for your child. Participants will need parent or guardian permission to join, and anyone attending the in-person session must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a great opportunity for youth to raise their voices, be heard, and help shape a more inclusive media landscape. Let’s show Canada what JMCC kids have to say.
