At JMCC, we are committed to keeping everyone safe and minimizing the spread of infection.

Cancellation/Rescheduling Guidelines:

For the well-being of your child, our clinicians, and other children at JMCC, please cancel your child’s appointment or request to switch to virtual therapy if they or you experience any of the following:

  • Feeling unwell
  • Having a fever
  • Developing a rash or blisters
  • Having a runny nose or weepy eyes
  • Experiencing excessive coughing or sneezing
  • Dealing with diarrhea or vomiting
  • Having head lice
  • Having a known positive COVID-19 test result (either with symptoms or not)
Respiratory viruses, like the ones that cause colds, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection, COVID-19 and the flu, are more likely than others to make people very sick. These illnesses are very contagious, easily transmitted through air particles, and can be very serious, especially for infants, anyone with pre-existing medical conditions, and older adults.

Windsor Essex Public Health Unit (WECHU) and Public Health Ontario recommend using layers of protection to help keep everyone healthy and to reduce transmission. The following guidelines are recommended and encouraged but not mandated:
  • Remember to get all the vaccines that are recommended based on your age and health status, which may include vaccines for influenza, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV);
  • Screen yourself and your child for signs of illness and stay home if you are symptomatic.
  • Wash your hands or use an alcohol-based hand disinfectant often.
  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
  • Regularly clean high touch services
If you have symptoms such as a fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, nasal congestion, headache, extreme fatigue, vomiting or diarrhea, assume that you have a cold, respiratory infection, Covid-19, RSV, or the flu.  Please stay home, reschedule your appointment or switch to a virtual therapy appointment at JMCC, as you may be contagious.

For ANY COVID POSITIVE result (with or without symptoms):

Services will be offered virtually for at least 5 days:
  • from the date of a positive test OR
  • the onset of symptoms
In person JMCC services can resume after 5 days when (the child or attending caregiver) :
  • Symptoms have been resolved for at least 24 hours, (48 for nausea, vomiting and diarrhea).
  • There is NO fever for 24 hours without medication.
  • No additional symptoms have developed.
Wearing a surgical or N95 mask is recommended for an additional 5 days after symptoms have resolved to help reduce the risks of transmission to JMCC staff, clients, and families.

We ask that families please follow up with their clinician or reception if they have further questions.

Thank you for helping us in our efforts to keep everyone safe.
