Windsor’s John McGivney Centre will receive more than $1.4 million under a funding announcement made Tuesday by the provincial government designed to improve access to critical rehabilitation services for children and youth with special needs.
The Connections Early Years Family Centre in Windsor will also receive $470,000 under the four-year commitment by the government to build additional capacity and increase access to preschool speech and language services, plus community-based rehabilitation services.
The government overall will invest $240 million — $60 million annually across the province.
“Ensuring children have access to the services they need, such as the new programs that will be made available from this funding, we can prioritize their success in life,” said MPP Rick Nicholls (C — Chatham-Kent-Leamington). “This will directly have a positive impact throughout Windsor and surrounding communities.”
