Statement on Ongoing Labour Negotiations
The John McGivney Children’s Centre has been engaged in ongoing collective bargaining discussions with OPSEU Local 170, which represents our front-line staff. Unfortunately, these discussions have reached an impasse and as such, a labour disruption is possible as of 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
We remain committed to reaching a fair and affordable agreement that reflects both our fiscal reality and deep appreciation for the dedicated professionals who support the children, youth, and families at JMCC.
We are putting plans in place in the event that we have a labour disruption so that we can respond in a timely and compassionate way to any urgent situations where a child’s safety or well-being may be at risk. Our focus remains on supporting our children, youth, and families.
