Celebrating Abilities!

February 22, 2022

Promotional poster for Celebrating Abilities event by John McGivney Children's Centre with call for kids and teens.

March 1, 2022 is International Wheelchair Day, and we’re thrilled to participate by launching our very special campaign: Celebrating Abilities!

We’ll celebrate the many abilities of our children and youth, and siblings too!  Whether it’s a special talent they have, something they’ve created, or something that makes them unique. This could be artwork, a poem, a skill, or talent, and they’ll be featured on JMCC social media channels, on our website, and more!

We’re inviting children and youth and those older too,  with all abilities, to send a picture of themselves and any photos or videos that showcase their talent or ability,  along with the description. Siblings are invited too!  We also welcome children and youth across our Windsor/Essex community to participate!

Here’s an example description:

My name is _____________ I am ____ years old. I am celebrating my ability by sharing ________________. This is special to me because _____________________.  A fun fact about what I am sharing is ________________.

Share your gifts by showing off what makes you AWESOME! Send your photos or video clips to: [email protected].
